This is one of the best purchases I have made. The Sony dvd player is so easy to start up, actually the dvd player starts up without any help. A Sony control with batteries is included. The HDMI connection cable is included. The Sony DVD player has a great picture and the sound is awesome!! Great value for the money. The player appears to be very well built and includes Blue Ray and Dolby audio. I love this DVD player. I would definitely recommend this player!

I was a little hesitant to purchase this unit as we had many problems with the similarly priced/sized Panasonic unit. The Panasonic unit would skip and drop out constantly, making it painful to watch a movie on it. We returned it for another one that was even worse – it soon quit working altogether. The Sony DVD/BluRay player, on the other hand, has been working like a champ. No skips, no drop-outs, no problems. We’ve only watched 2 movies on it so far, but not a single problem, unlike the other brand’s unit that gave us problems right out of the box. Very pleased. Highly recommended.

I bought this Blu-ray player as part of my shift away from online streaming subscriptions and back to collecting DVDs and Blu-rays. For the price, this unit is excellent — it’s affordable, works reliably, and has everything I need to enjoy my collection.The build quality feels solid, and setup was quick and straightforward. One of the best features is the DVD upscaling — standard DVDs look surprisingly sharp and clear on my HD television. It really makes older discs more enjoyable to watch again. Blu-rays also play smoothly with great picture and sound quality.It’s compact and doesn’t take up much space, which is a nice bonus. Overall, this player offers great performance for the cost, and I’m very satisfied with it.Pros:- Excellent price for the quality- DVD upscaling makes movies look great on HD TVs- Plays Blu-rays and DVDs smoothly- Compact designCons:- The disc tray was stuck the first time I tried to open it; after pushing the door several times, it finally unstuck and now works fine
